Students in almost all the schools accorded a warm welcome by staff, teachers with much zeal and enthusiasm

The decision of the Punjab government of opening of schools from today was warmly welcomed by the students, parents, school management committees, school heads and teachers. Students in almost all the schools were given a warm welcome.

At Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Sector 3, Talwara, there was all smiles on the faces of students as they entered the school. Students were given a hearty welcome by Principal Suresh Kumari and all the teachers on their entry into the school. At this time, following the guidelines of the state government regarding Covid-19 pandemic, the students sanitized their hands keeping social distancing and then entered the school.

Expressing happiness over the arrival of students in the School, Principal Suresh Kumari said that all the benches were sanitized keeping in view the health of the students and a seating plan was prepared for their carry on studies. She said that out of 740 students 625 attended today.

The parents who came to attend the Parents Teacher meet expressed their happiness over the reopening of the school and said that they and their wards had been waiting for the reopening of the school for a long time.

Lauding the arrangements made by the school for the health of the students Satnam Singh told that his daughter was studying in 6th standard in the school. He said that with the opening of the school, results of the students would be improved.

Appreciating the decision of the state government for opening schools from today Jasandeep Kaur, a student of 6th standard, said that she was overjoyed to come to the school after a long time and meet her beloved teachers and fellow students.

Talking to this correspondent District Education Officer (Secondary) Harjit Singh and District Education Officer (Primary) Sanjiv Gautam claimed that the opening of the school was a success. The attendance in the schools were good. The classes for 9th to 12th class was already going. The Parents-Teacher meet programme is going in all almost all the schools in the district which would be continued up to tomorrow. The classes would be started thereafter normally.
