Drive against bad elements intensified: SSP Kulwant Singh Heer
In last 10 days District Police registered 39 FIRs, arrested 53 accused indulged in murder, kidnapping etc.
Says zero tolerance against drug smuggling, maintenance of law & order also one of top priorities
HOSHIARPUR, OCTOBER 28 (ADESH) :
As per the directions given by Sh. Kulwant Singh Heer PPS, Senior Superintendent of Police Hoshiarpur and under supervision of Sh Ravinderpal Singh PPS, Superintendent of Police (Investigations) and Sh Mandeep Singh PPS, Superintendent of Police (OCCU and Narcotics) , in the last ten days the local police have acted sternly against bad elements in the entire district resulting in registration of 39 FIRs and arrested 53 Accused, including perpetrators of Murder and Kidnapping.

Mr. Heer had conducted a crime meeting on 22.10.2021 at Police Lines Hoshiarpur. In this meeting Sh Ravinderpal Singh , Sh Mandeep Singh, all GOs, all SHOs and Heads of various branches of District Police Office participated. SSP Hoshiarpur apprised the officers about the instructions given by the Government of Punjab regarding maintenance Law and Order and providing the Public with clean and efficient administration. He directed the officials to perform their duty with honesty and utmost sincerity.

Mr Heer also directed the officials to have zero tolerance policy towards persons engaging in Drug Smuggling, Gambling, Illegal Mining and other Illegal activities. Apart for this he also instructed that District Police must work with Impartiality and Transparency so that no complaints of corruption are raised by the Public. Working as per these instructions the district Police have arrested the many accused and made recoveries from them.

On 21.08.2021, in a firing incident in village Jhungian one Balvir Kaur was killed and Shabdeep Kaur was injured. A case FIR no. 107 dated 22.08.2021 U/S 302,307,120 B IPC, 24/54/59 Arms Act PS Chabbewal was registered subsequently against one Mandeep Singh S/O Gurjinder Pal Singh R/O Bhar Singh Pura PS Phillaur Distt Jalandhar and others. Mandeep Singh was absconding, whose L.O.C had been already got issued by the district Police. He was planning to escape to US through Jaipur. He was held at the Jaipur International Airport 26.10.2021 as a result of diligence shown by the district police.



On 20.09.2021, one Rajan S/O Jaspal Commission agent was abducted while on his way to his Shop. A ransom of Rs 50 Lac was demanded by the abductors. Acting promptly, the Hoshiarpur Police registered FIR No. 225 dt 20.09.2021 U/S 364 A IPC PS Model Town Hoshiarpur in which accused Varinderpal Singh @ Vicky along with Jagjit Singh @ Raja R/O Mukhliana and  Amrik Singh R/O Village Patti PS Chabbewal were arrested. Another accused in the case Harpreet Singh @ Happy was also arrested on 21.10.2021. Rajan was safely retrieved and united with his family.
In an another case Insp Shiv Kumar In Charge CIA Hoshiarpur arrested notorious snatcher and thief, Rajesh Kumar @ Sunny R/ O Ward No. 4, Mohalla Lalgarh Ravidas Nagar PS Sadar Hoshiarpur in case FIR No. 168 dated 25.10.2021 U/S 379 IPC PS Sadar Distt Hoshiarpur and recovered 5 motorcycles from him from Bus Stand Hoshiarpur. In addition to this Police also took under possession 3 Motorcycles and 4 Honda Activa scooters lying abandoned at the Bus Stand. The District Police are investigating about them.
As per the aforementioned directions given by SSP Hoshiarpur against Drug Smugglers, in the last 10 days District Police has registered 25 cases, arrested 31 accused and recovered 1 Kg Opium , 603 Gm intoxicant powder, 82 gm Heroin, 58 gm Charas, 933 Capsules , Tablets and Injections in addition to 8 Motorcycles, one car and one Truck.Further, the district police have registered 11 cases and arrested 19 accused engaging in gambling under the garb of doing lottery business and recovered Rs 44050 from them. Similarly, acting against persons engaging in illegal mining the police have registered 2 cases and recovered a tractor trolley from them.
Increasing vigil at the approach of festive season, district Police have put up 10interstate, round the clock check posts.
The men posted at these check posts have been instructed to keep an eye on people entering and leaving the district. No challans are, however, being done at these check posts. Sub Divisional GOs and SHOs of Police stations have been instructed to put up cameras on their official vehicles to record the checking for posterity. In addition to this, all GOs and SHOs have been instructed on Public Dealing aspect too.
