Hoshiarpur: Punjab is witnessing the danger of an even worse pandemic with second wave of the COVID-19 engulfing the country with a stronger strain of virus. Actively responding to the situation, state government has issued new guidelines under which lockdown hours have been extended to 8pm to 5 am, all gyms, spas etc. have been closed, dine-in has been prohibited in hotels/ restaurants, complete lockdown has been imposed on Sundays. Hoshiarpur Police has once again took to its role of the front line COVID warrior and efforts are being put in all directions to save Hoshiarpur from falling down to the upcoming danger.

As per directions of Sh. Navjot Singh Mahal SSP Hoshiarpur, all the SHOs and GOs have conducted 37 meetings all over the district with Sarpanches, Councilors, and marriage Palace owners to sensitize them and also to enforce the guidelines in people friendly manner adopting people’s policing methods. The meetings included approximate 650 people from different walks of life. In addition to that, checking has been done in all the marriage palaces to check the number of persons attending the functions.

Along with that, mobile PCR team of Hoshiarpur district is checking all the gyms, dhabas and restaurants of the area to ensure strict enforcement of the preventive measures.

Sh. Navjot Singh Mahal SSP Hoshiarpur has appealed the people to support police and administration to always wear masks in public and to obey the guidelines issued by the government.
